Jenny is a seasoned communications strategist with more than 10 years’ experience in the nonprofit sector. As Communications Officer at the Goldman Environmental Foundation, she directs public relations, social media, message development and marketing for the Goldman Environmental Prize, the world’s largest award given to grassroots environmental activists. She was previously an account director at Fenton, a public interest communications agency, where she led social change campaigns on public health, education, environment, and human rights.
Jenny is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, where she co-founded a student advocacy organization for children in foster care. She lives in San Mateo with her soon-to-be husband, who shares her passion for ridiculously good home cooking.

Shail Shah

Shail is a corporate tax attorney with over 8 years of experience corporate state and local income taxes.  As a Director at Andersen Tax, Shail advises large and medium-sized businesses on restructurings, controversy, and other state tax matters.  Prior to Andersen Tax Shail worked as a government attorney for the California Franchise Tax Board.
Shail received his Juris Doctorate and LL.M. in Taxation from the University of San Diego School of Law and attended UCLA for his undergraduate studies.  Despite living in San Francisco for many years, Shail is a devout Dodgers fan, a fan of UCLA sports, and a true believer in good food and good beer.

Joan Rose Tiongquico, Secretary

Business Analyst – United Airlines

Joan Rose is currently a business analyst in maintenance technology systems for United Airlines.
During college at UCLA, she was dedicated to an outreach program that promotes higher education to low-income youth in downtown Los Angeles. She served in various leadership roles that oversaw the planning and implementation of after-school programs and conferences on college campuses.
When she moved to San Francisco and started looking for organizations to get involved in, a quick search turned up Urban Sprouts. With a newfound interest in nutrition and gardening, and with fresh experience in youth mentorship, she enthusiastically began volunteering in June 2012 at the Urban Sprouts booth at the Mission Community Market.At United, Joan Rose is an active leader at the San Francisco hub, organizing many of the company’s local, corporate, and charitable events.In her spare time, Joan Rose enjoys traveling, frequenting farmers markets, running through Golden Gate Park, and noshing on garlic fries at Oakland A’s games.
