Sprouting Leaders is a six-week summer job for youth ages 15 - 18, looking to improve their leadership skills and effect positive change in their communities through food justice, ecological gardening, and cooking.
The fundamentals of ecological urban agriculture and cooking from the garden;
How to improve their leadership skills;
How to plan and facilitate educational gardening and cooking workshops for their peers; and
How to advocate for equity in the food system
Desired Skill & Experience
An interest in gardening, social/environmental justice, food justice/sovereignty, and cooking
Ability to work collaboratively and independently
Prior leadership experience
Compassionate and energetic attitude
Willingness to learn, ask questions, and be creative
SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION
Schedule is June 10th – July 17th; Monday – Thursday, 9am – 4pm.
No programing on July 4th
Saturday, June 22nd 11am – 4pm is also required.
Participants must be San Francisco residents between the ages of 15-18. This is an hourly position, $16.00/hour.
